Learning Partners Academy Trust (LPAT), Learning Partners Church Academy Trust (LPCAT) and Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT) are planning to merge, with the new trust expected to come into being in January 2027.
The 3 trusts include both non-faith and CofE schools.
The merger therefore needs a governance structure that accommodates both.
This means the the governance structure of the ‘to be’ Trust will need to change.
Although we don’t know exactly what the changes will be, we know that this will include giving powers to the Diocese.
